Welcome to Abrazos Optimum Health! Abrazos focuses on your wellness and disease prevention by using the “old style country doc” practice model. To ensure that you receive quality care, we work on a cash pay basis and we DO NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE. This enables our doctor to customize your health and wellness care to meet your needs, provide you with the best quality care, and offer full price transparency.

Abrazos will listen closely to every parent/patient and respect and honor their wishes. We recognize that every patient is different with specific concerns and expectations. Our treatment plans are in Collaboration with our patients. Abrazos will never coerce, force, or shame any parent/patient into doing anything against their beliefs or will. Informed consent will always be honored!
About Our Doctor

“Dr. V” has been treating infants, children, adolescents, and young adults for over 14 years. He has been practicing medicine in community health clinics in Laredo and San Antonio, TX. Dr. V was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and at the age of 6, emigrated to the greatest nation in the world: United States of America. He majored in biomedical science at Texas A&M University and was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. He completed medical school and pediatric residency at UTHSC at San Antonio.
Dr. V believes that our healthcare system is broken, and this became more apparent in the past couple years. While the current healthcare model primarily focuses on treating symptoms and not the underlying conditions, Dr. V and the Abrazos team focus on treating the whole patient instead of quickly dispensing “pills for your ills.” Dr. V repeatedly emphasizes that the key to health and wellness is proper nutrition, sleep, exercise, sun exposure, living in community, positive mindset, and limiting toxic exposures.
